Security Analyst

Swan iT is assisting a client in the financial industry in recruiting a Security Analyst to join their team in Cape Town, and aid in protecting the company’s information systems and networks from cyber threats.

The Security Analyst will support the conduct of security assessments and audits and provide training to users to increase security awareness.

Responsibilities:

• Implementing security measures to prevent and mitigate cyber-attacks, such as firewalls, encryption, and access controls.


• Conducting regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and assess overall security posture.


• Keeping abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the field of cybersecurity.


• Monitoring and analyzing security systems to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.


• Conducting security investigations, responding to security incidents, and documenting findings.


• Communicating security risks and incidents to stakeholders and management.


• Staying current with security certifications and continuing education opportunities to maintain expertise in the field.


• Asist in ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to information security.


• Work closely with the IT teams to enhance and ensure overall security posture.


• Evaluate existing security measures regularly to ensure their effectiveness

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or similar


• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Cyber Security Analysis


• Familiarity with security frameworks and regulations, such as NIST and PCI DSS.


• Knowledge of programming and scripting languages, such as Python, is a plus


• Familiarity with operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, and macOS.
